Semi-Private Lessons?

What are Semi-Private Lessons?

They are lessons of 2 to 6 students, each with their own digital piano and pair of headphones, learning from a teacher who uses teaching techniques different from ones found in a traditional piano lesson. These techniques are designed to be encouraging, enjoyable, and very effective in getting a student to target specific areas of improvement, retain learned concepts, and grasp a new skill or improve an existing one every lesson.

Emphasis on Fundamentals

  • In addition to learning piano skills, our semi-private lesson students gain a foundational music education as well, including ensemble techniques that will help in band/orchestra and music theory that will serve them well in playing any instrument or future music class.
  • We believe semi-private lessons provide a great environment for a student to try learning a new instrument as well as progress alongside peers as they advance. Meet new friends on your musical journey. Interact with more advanced students who can help mentor you or serve as a source of inspiration. And we think learning is always more fun with friends.

Build practice habits and dedication to the learning process

  • If a classmate is practicing at home (or at our studio!), then you or your child are more likely to practice too. We believe that getting a pianist to practice is much easier when they receive motivation from other students, not only from teachers and parents.
  • Included in our semi-private lesson program is the free option to practice using our pianos in our space during our open practice times.
